Current research is investigating Algal behavior in mixed cultures for algal bio fuels. I am working with Dr. Andrew Schuler in the Civil Engineering Department at the University of New Mexico In particular, I am interested in the behavior of algae in reactor settings, and what parameters can be optimized to increase lipid production and improve harvesting. My current research is looking at selection pressures in mixed cultures in photo bio reactors.
