Summary: 

GeoMedia is a powerful, flexible GIS management platform that can aggregate data from a variety of sources and analyze them in unison to extract clear, actionable information. It provides simultaneous access to geospatial data in almost any form, uniting them in a single map view for efficient processing, analysis, presentation, and sharing.

GeoMedia GIS platform accesses and uses data that adheres to open standards such as those defined by the Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) and others, and at the same time it can uses data directly from their sources. This means GeoMedia does not rely on proprietary data. GeoMedia is an enterprise-based system which can provide an organization with the ability to access, analyze, and distribute data across the organization or over the web.

GeoMedia’s easy-to-use graphical user interface is well-organized and streamlined to minimize mouse movement and button clicks, increasing productivity and reducing associated costs. Commands are logically and thoughtfully grouped into a ribbon control similar to those in Microsoft Office. However, GeoMedia can only be operated in Microsoft Windows operating system. In addition, most introductory level users need to invest time to get to know the user interface. In other words, there is a fairly high learning curve depending on user’s GIS and spatial analysis skills.
